Meet at the special exhibition entrance for a guided of A New American Sculpture, 1914–1945: Lachaise, Laurent, Nadelman, and Zorach. This is the first exhibition to investigate the integral relationships between modernism, classicism, and popular imagery in the interwar sculpture of Gaston Lachaise, Robert Laurent, Elie Nadelman, and William Zorach. Assembled from public and private collections, this exhibition of approximately 55 sculptures and 20 drawings addresses the remarkable affinities between the work of four divergent and competitive personalities, who redefined sculpture's expressive potential during the turbulent interbellum period.

Sensory Saturdays

Program for families with children on the autism spectrum

This is a free program for families with children who are 5 to 12 years old and on the autism spectrum. Families will have time to explore artworks in the galleries and get creative during a hands-on, art-making experience!

While the needs of individuals with autism are the focus of this program, it is also intended to be fun for parents, siblings (of all ages), and other relatives!

This program is offered on the second Saturday of every month. Reservations are required. Registration for this program opens March 1.

Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon

Network and collaborate with your fellow American art enthusiasts at these events, every third Thursday of every other month (except where noted otherwise), 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., in the museum's Library to "help Wikipedia tell the story of American art." Attendees will be help facilitate the museum's mission to further knowledge on American art by either creating or editing articles on topics that relate to the museum's collections. However, editors have the freedom to write on any topic they wish.

Both novice and experienced editors are invited to join us. We'll have experienced Wikipedians to guide writers on Wikipedia editing policies and technical procedures. Attendees will work in the museum's Reading Room, which offers a collaborative and inspiring space for editing. Editors will also have ready access to the library's near-comprehensive collection of research resources on American art.
