Storytime: Loud and Quiet

Stories and artmaking for families with children 8 and under

Storytime is upside down and inside out at the Amon Carter as we explore opposites this summer! This week, visitors will focus on how to be loud and quiet when they bring their family to hear stories, look at artworks, and create their own works of art! Snacks will be provided.

During each Storytime, adults can register their participating children to win that week’s featured books. A drawing will be held after each program; those chosen will be contacted via phone or email.

Storytime is held every Wednesday, June 6 through July 25 (except on July 4), from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

This program is best for families with children ages eight and under and their adult companions. If you work for a summer school or day care, we offer a customized experience for your students on a different day. Please call 817.989.5036 or email schooltours@cartermuseum.org for more information.

The museum is unable to validate paid parking at the Will Rogers Memorial Center. Parking information.

Network and collaborate with your fellow American art enthusiasts at these events, every third Thursday of every other month (except where noted otherwise), 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., in the museum's Library to "help Wikipedia tell the story of American art." Attendees will be help facilitate the museum's mission to further knowledge on American art by either creating or editing articles on topics that relate to the museum's collections. However, editors have the freedom to write on any topic they wish.

Both novice and experienced editors are invited to join us. We'll have experienced Wikipedians to guide writers on Wikipedia editing policies and technical procedures. Attendees will work in the museum's Reading Room, which offers a collaborative and inspiring space for editing. Editors will also have ready access to the library's near-comprehensive collection of research resources on American art.
