Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon

Join other editors to help Wikipedia tell the story of Fort Worth

The Fort Worth Library Archives is co-hosting the Amon Carter Museum of American Art’s Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon, where you can join other editors to help Wikipedia tell the story of Fort Worth culture and history. Both novice and experienced editors are invited to join us. We'll have experienced Wikipedians to guide writers on Wikipedia editing policies and technical procedures. Editors will also have ready access to the library's resources. Bring your own laptop (and power cable) if you have one.

If you have one hour or less, attend a training session and learn more about editing Wikipedia.
If you have 90 minutes, attend a training session and add citations to an article.
If you have two hours, attend a training session and add a well-cited paragraph to an article.
If you are spending 4 hours with us, consider drafting a new article.

Registration is required. Please click here to register.

Step back in time into the houses, gardens, and grounds of three historic properties in Waco, the city on the Brazos River that calls itself the heart of Texas. Built by affluent merchants and pioneer planters, these homes present distinct styles that give a broad view of mid- to late nineteenth-century art and design. We will examine paintings, architecture, furniture, textiles, and costumes on privately led tours of each property. Lunch will be catered by Olive Branch Bakery & Café at the McCulloch House.

Fee: $150 per person includes transportation, lunch, all fees and gratuities.

Space is limited. Full payment is due at the time of reservation. For further details or reservations, contact Mary Lynn Sloane at 817.989.5063 or marylynn.sloane@cartermuseum.org.
