Awesome Amphibians

Storytime

Go wild during this Storytime all about animals! This week, bring your family for stories, art exploration, and art making focused on amphibians. Snacks will be provided. No reservations are required.

During each Storytime, participating children will be registered to win that week’s featured books. A drawing will be held at the end of each program; those chosen do not need to be present to win.

This program is best for families with children ages eight and under and their adult companions. If you work for a summer school or daycare, we offer a customized experience for your students on a different day. Please call 817.989.5036 or email schooltours@cartermuseum.org for more information.

Storytime is held every Wednesday, June 10 through July 29, from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

While the museum is under renovation paid parking is available at Will Rogers Memorial Center located on West Lancaster Avenue and Gendy Street. The museum is unable to validate parking fees. Additional parking information may be found here.

Storytime is sponsored in part by Galderma Laboratories, LP. and Terra Foundation for American Art. Snacks provided by GoGo squeeZ.

The Greater Journey

Book Club

The museum will revisit David McCullough's book The Greater Journey: Americans in Paris (2011), a previous Amon Carter book club favorite. Participants are encouraged to read (or re-read!) the book prior to the program. During the program we will gather in the galleries and discuss the connections between the book and the exhibition Samuel F. B. Morse’s Gallery of the Louvre and the Art of Invention. Refreshments will be provided after the discussion.

The first twenty registrants receive a free copy of the book. Registration is required. Registration for this program opens May 1. Call 817.989.5030 or email visitors@cartermuseum.org to register and get information on receiving your book.
