The Last Picture Show

Book Club

Prior to the program, read Larry McMurtry’s The Last Picture Show (1966). During the program, readers and museum educators gather in the galleries and discuss the book’s connection with the Amon Carter’s vast collection of western artwork, including large-scale portraits by photographer Richard Avedon. Refreshments will be provided after the discussion.

The first twenty registrants receive a free copy of the book. Registration is required. Registration for this program opens May 1. Call 817.989.5013 or email education@cartermuseum.org to register and get information on receiving your book.
