Visitors' Voice Part 2

We had a great time at the first Visitors’ Voice program last week. It’s not often that you can meet with a group of like-minded individuals interested in discussing art and what it means to them. Channel your inner art historian and attend the second part of our summer Visitors’ Voice series this Saturday, June 28, at 3:00 p.m. We will meet in the main gallery and discuss more winners from our “election” and do some fun activities too.

I was interested in the new Gaston Lachaise, Seated woman
figure that has just be acquired by the Carter.

In the 1950’s, on my first trip to Europe, I acquired a small bronze figure of a mandoline paying clown in a
small, out of the way, shop in Berlin. The close is
approximately 8 inch tall, is on a black marble base,
and is marked what looks to be “LPersa” , #156
Bronze Garanti. Can you direct me to someone that
can give my information about his figure.
Thank you.

Gentlemen,
My apologies for not replying sooner. Museum staff do not appraise, evaluate, or authenticate works of art. Our Library and Archives
( http://www.cartermuseum.org/library/faq )
does offer a list of organizations that can help you find an appraiser in your area. I hope your search will add even more significance to your well-traveled treasure!
