Back to Business

The Carter reopened to the public in August, and the staff has taken what amounts to a five-week-long sigh of relief. Now that the pressing deadlines and rush to reinstall the art are behind us, we’re looking around and taking stock of all the projects we pushed aside this summer. Fall is always a busy time for museums, with exhibition schedules that are loosely based on the academic year.

We’ve had six new exhibitions open in the past month, and we’re lending works from our collection to several other museums for their exhibitions.

The exhibition Georgia O’Keeffe and the Women of the Stieglitz Circle opens today at the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe, New Mexico. One of our eleven O’Keeffe works, Red Cannas, is included in the show, which is open until January before it travels to Atlanta and San Diego.
